One of my long-term projects is the carnival in Cologne. Traditionally, the carnival season begins every year on November 11. So I spontaneously took a day off and went into town in costume. There I happened to meet my buddy Michael Hampe, and on the spur of the moment we decided to go out and take some photos together. It was a really cool walk, and Damian joined us later, albeit not for long. One of my favorite pictures is this dude, who, in combination with the ripped sheet in the background, constantly brings the word “burst” to mind.
